Junaid: Fifth Body Identified as Chakar Gulab, Missing for Two Years
The identity of the fifth body recovered in Junaid has been confirmed as Chakar Gulab, who, according to his family and local sources, had been forcibly disappeared nearly two years ago.
Family members said Chakar Gulab was taken into custody in 2024 and had remained missing since then. They stated that despite repeated appeals to the authorities and efforts to determine his whereabouts, no official information had been provided during the period of his disappearance.
The identification of the body has renewed concerns over the issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Human rights organizations and local activists have repeatedly called for transparent investigations into missing persons cases and for authorities to ensure accountability and due process.
Officials have not yet issued a detailed statement regarding the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the body or the cause of death. An investigation is expected to determine the facts surrounding the case.
The incident has prompted renewed calls from families of missing persons and rights groups for independent investigations and justice.
