Quetta–Taftan Route: Buses and Vehicles Set Ablaze in Nushki
NUSHKI: Multiple passenger buses and other vehicles were set on fire on the Quetta–Taftan Highway in the Nushki district on Monday, causing major disruption to traffic along one of Balochistan's key transportation routes.
According to available reports, several vehicles were stopped before being set ablaze. No casualties have been officially reported so far, while authorities have yet to release a detailed statement regarding the incident.
The latest attack comes amid a series of security-related incidents on major highways across Balochistan. During the past week, 17 vehicles have reportedly been targeted in separate incidents in Dalbandin, Nushki, and Mastung, raising concerns over security on the province's road network.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the latest attack. However, the Quetta–Taftan Highway has witnessed repeated militant activity in recent months, with previous statements from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claiming operations in the area.
Security forces have reportedly launched search operations in the affected area, while traffic movement remained disrupted for several hours following the incident.
Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
